Refurbished Toilets

Wed 28th November 2012
The refurbished customer toilets at Grays Shopping Centre have been officially opened today by The Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Yash Gupta MBE. The toilets which had been left untouched since the shopping centre was built have been completely transformed, creating a modern first class facility within the heart of Grays town centre.   Specifically designed with shoppers in mind, the owners of the shopping centre have invested over £100,000 into the new refurbished toilets. The lighting has been enhanced, brand new fixtures & fittings installed with complete redecoration throughout.   Cllr Yash Gupta MBE commented: “Grays shopping centre have done an excellent job in refurbishing the toilets. I am very pleased that the Grays toilets are going to be used by the whole community as there are no public toilets in the area”. Shopping centre manager Keith Evans, said: “This facility is the only one available in the whole of the town centre and I’d like to thank the people of Grays for being so patient whilst the works were carried out but I’m sure everyone will agree that the new toilets have dramatically improved the shopping experience in Grays.   Mike Wimble of Ellandi who manage the shopping centre on behalf of the owners Rockspring commented ”We truly believe that there is a future for shopping centres such as Grays and that investment in the infrastructure will pay dividends. Yes we have Lakeside on our doorstep but we see no reason why our shoppers shouldn’t benefit from the same quality of facilities that can be found in these much bigger centres. This project is part of a much larger program of improvements that the centre is currently benefiting from. We have recently replaced all the lighting in the car park and have also started a full scale refurbishment. We will also be installing free Wi-Fi into the centre. All of these things will dramatically improve the shopping experience at Grays."
