Christmas Lights Switch on in November

This year we pulled out all the stops for the Christmas Lights Switch.
Steve McFadden, better known as EastEnder Phil Mitchell, came to Essex on Saturday 26 November for a 'meet and greet' with our shoppers. There was a large crowd to greet him and he answered questions about his career and EastEnders, and stayed on to sign autographs for all his fans.
During this time Steve was joined by the Mayor and Mayoress of Thurrock who welcomed him to the centre and wished everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
The prize winner of the Thurrock Community Chest competition, Nicole McCarthy of Grays, had a very special one to one chat with her soap star favourite.
Thurrock Community Chest is one of Thurrock's premier charities. They promote and support local good causes and community groups through constructive grant making. By working together to build up funds they have been able to help hundreds of local groups and individuals.  Â
