Specsavers celebrates 10 years of service
Tue 5th November 2013
Specsavers celebrated 10 years of service in the local community with an anniversary party on Saturday 2nd November.
To celebrate the landmark occasion Specsavers decorated the store with balloons and shoppers were treated to a special birthday cake and entertained by Specsavers “green” street performers. There was also the opportunity to enter a competition on the day to win a free pair of designer glasses.
The anniversary is cause for a double celebration as long serving members of staff, Paula Davey and Lydia Jimenez have clocked up a combined total of 14 years of service. The ladies have some great memories from their time in store, from helping to save the sight of a number of customers, hosting fundraising days in store for Children in Need, and delivering specs to elderly customers who were unable to come in to store to collect them.
Paula says: ‘I joined Specsavers in Grays full of aspirations and I have not been disappointed. There is never a dull moment and I have seen the store go from strength to strength.’
Lydia continues: ‘I honestly can’t believe where the time has gone. I can remember my first day here like it was yesterday. I’m on first name terms with lots of our customers and I can’t help but wonder what I’ll be doing in the next 14 years. I feel very lucky to be part of such a great team.’
