Grays Town Centre Landmark set to be Refurbished
Tue 4th September 2012
Owner of Grays shopping Centre Ellandi LLP and Rockspring PIM are to undertake a complete refurbishment of the car park above The Grays Shopping Centre. This will include complete resurfacing, decoration, lighting and signage, and significant road improvements carried out to allow easier access.
Keith Evans, Centre Manager, said ‘This is great news for Grays shopping centre and this deal paves the way for significant investment in the Multi Storey Car Park that can only be good news for the town. The car park will be hugely improved making it a much safer and secure place to park in the heart of the town centre. With this initiative, our town centre location and favourable tariffs, we hope more people will choose to use this great facility.’
The commitment to fund these works was assisted by a deal with Thurrock Council to take a new 5 year lease to occupy over 200 spaces on the top three levels of the multi storey car park. This requirement is the result of the council’s need to relocate a provision for key staff due to the commencement of works on the Learning Campus.
Mike Wimble, Ellandi, commented, “Grays will have a best in class parking facility, in keeping with our philosophy of bringing the best in shopping amenity to local communities. Following on from the solar installation, the new lighting will not only be brighter and safer, but also drastically reduce the schemes carbon footprint.â€
Works to the car park are due to begin shortly and form part of a comprehensive program of works to improve the shopping experience in Grays Shopping Centre.
Additional season tickets are still available from the centre management office.
